Form 8829 Expenses for Business Use of Your Home is one of the forms you use at tax time. Your bathroom improvements are an Indirect Expense. Line 19 Repairs and maintenance (Indirect column) is where the total amount would be placed. Indirect expenses are those that affect your household and your business area. In other words, they are not only for your business but are also for your household. Direct Expenses affect only your designated business/office area. You can find this form at and search Form 8829.

No. You can write off the expenses pertaining to the portion of your house that is used exclusively for business. If you want to add a bathroom that is used strictly for business purposes then you can write off the cost of the improvements.
