The Planet Hosting Review

The name The Planet is synonymous with a powerhouse in the web hosting industry. The figures speak for themselves, with more than 16 m websites being hosted from all 4 corners of the earth.

It makes them the largest company anywhere on the planet that offer dedicated servers to customers. They have a huge infrastructure with over 5000 employees, being headquartered across several sites in Texas.

So all good stuff, but it doesn’t necessarily mean anything to a customer. A customer of course wants good and reliable service and a good price.

Well a large organization like this does put them in an excellent position to offer their customers a great range of services and allow them to put bespoke plans together.

I am currently a customer of The Planet and have 2 dedicated servers. The level of customer service that they offer to me I find to be of a very high standard. Issues that go through to support are either dealt with straight away on chat, or answered within an hour on email.

The flexibility I mentioned previously also allows your requirements to grow up or reduce for your business or personal needs very easily. The are no changes to the level of service that you get and you can feel confident in making adjustments.

The Planet do clearly come into their own when it comes to the level of speed and reliability they are able to provider in their servers and offer all their customers 25+ gigabits/sec of transit network capacity to 7 Tier 1 backbone networks.

The Planet also provide all this for an extremely good price. I have seen and heard from many people around that have been taken in by good advertising campaigns and been led to rent dedicated servers for very low price points. Invariably they are not good quality with bad customer service. Don’t make this same mistake as it can be very costly and time consuming.
