Guides On Choosing A Flower Bouquet For An Occasion
A visit to a florist for the correct bouquet may be a nerve-racking experience, as every flower shop offers you loads of choices. But the good news is that you can reduce your options keeping the event in mind, as different flowers have different meanings associated with them and hence each is suited for a particular event. If you know what meanings are communicated by the different flowers, then you are left with a small range of flowers to select from, and your choice becomes easy.
The idea of flowers projecting human emotions is believed to have originated long ago, and was much in vogue during the Victorian era. Red roses represent fidelity in love, and yellow roses represent love that is less physical and more like companionship. Tulips and carnations too communicate meanings and feelings according to their different colours.
It is traditional and customary to present bouquets to a couple on their wedding day. Buyers should keep in mind the seasonal and thematic atmosphere of a marriage while buying bouquets for the purpose. If the wedding falls in spring, then a bouquet with spring flowers can be gifted to the couple, and in case of an old fashioned marriage a bouquet having an assortment of white and red flowers can be presented.
Colourful and bright flowers should be kept for merry events like anniversaries and birthdays, and flowers like roses, daisies and chrysanthemums are the best for bouquets meant for such event s. Whereas, for an occasion like a graduation, you would want to go for something more refined but still vibrant. Colourful lilies serve the purpose well, and a combination of two to three colours gives an added appeal to the assortment.
Serious flowers like white carnations are the most appropriate for an event of sorrow, like the recent demise of a close acquaintance. By presenting a white bouquet or wreath you wish the soul of the departed everlasting peace. However, bright flowers like tropical blooms are the best messengers of a get-well-soon message, and hence they are fit for presenting to people who are bed ridden due to illness.
You might suddenly feel that picking the correct bouquet for an occasion is like doing a tightrope walk, but don’t forget that a florist can always come to your rescue if you are confused.
